Xanthones Are The Secret Behind Mangosteen!

What are Xanthones?

There is a big buzz in the medical and holistic community these days and it’s all because of a fairly recent discovery. It wasn't until 40 years ago when scientists first put Mangosteen Fruit under the microscope that they Discovered a Brand New group of Phytonutrients. This discovery is the phenomenal health benefits the human body derives from a phytochemical class known as Xanthones. Over 200 xanthones have been identified in nature, with each one possessing its own unique effects on the body. Xanthones are contained within a large family of compounds known as phenols and within this grouping can also found bioflavonoids, anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins (OPCs). Xanthones are the primary active phytochemical class found in the Mangosteen fruit (Garcinia mangostana L.).

Science has crowned the king of xanthones as the mangosteen fruit, with over 40 xanthones identified in the pericarp, more commonly known as the rind, making the mangosteen the most abundant xanthones source in the world. Of these 40 or so xanthones only six of the xanthones have been studied in depth, with much excitement I would like to add. These xanthones isolated are Mangostin, Mangostanol, y-Mangostin, Gartanin, Garcinone B and Garcinone E. Researches still don’t completely understand how the xanthones in the mangosteen fruit exert such a favorable impact on human health. Researches though, do validate the fact that the mangosteen possesses powerful healing properties that surpass many man made substances.

Over the months and years to come the scientific community will continue to unlock more secrets still to be found inside the mangosteen fruit. With each new clinical study we move another step close to validating another natural compound, xanthone, for the treatment and prevention of disease. Today we can all reap the benefits from sciences hard work in the form Mangosteen Juice. It tastes terrific it’s and it’s terrific for you!

There are many varieties and classes of naturally occurring chemical compounds known as Xanthones, but some of the most concentrated sources of Xanthones (Alpha Mangostin and Gamma Mangostin) are found in the fleshy fruit, and especially the hull or peel of the mangosteen.

Xanthones are 100 Times more Powerful Anti-Oxidants than Vitamin A, C & E and have also demonstrated Tremendous Healing Properties in Peer-Reviewed Scientific Studies from around the World.

Naturally occurring, these Supercharged Anti-Oxidants, are found more abundantly in the rind of the Mangosteen Fruit than any other food source on earth.

Xanthones are a class of plant derived nutrients or "phytonutrients." They have been demonstrated in numerous scientific studies to hold tremendous nutritional value. Their most notable quality is their anti-inflammatory properties.

Research has discovered that they are a powerful form of Cox2 Inhibitors, which are directly related to inflammation and pain. Xanthones are also found to exhibit strong antioxidant activity thus disarming free radicals in the body and enhancing and supporting your body's immune system.

Mangosteen in the News

The Oakland Press recently released (Nov. 11, 2007) an article about a family in Michigan that is battling chronic staph infections. The family's daughter, Jessica, has experienced 12 infections including one that nearly killed her, causing irreparable harm.

The Journal of the American Medical Association says more people died in 2005 from MRSA infections in the United States than from AIDS!

In the article Dr. Amod Tootla is quoted extensively. The following is an excerpt from The Oakland Press:

Dr. Amod Tootla practices general surgery in Bloomfield Hills, Grand Blanc and Rochester Hills and has been in the profession for 45 years. Tootla said the fruit of the mangosteen has been used as a folk medicine for years and, though he's careful not to call it a cure, he believes the mangosteen fruit can be beneficial to those with MRSA. "The Western societies have paid little attention to folk medicines," Tootla said.

Tootla said key active ingredients called xanthones are found in mangosteen juice. Xanthones are biologically active chemicals found in a few tropical plants. Current research on xanthones suggests they are beneficial in helping fight many conditions including allergies; microbial, fungus and viral infections; high cholesterol; inflammation; skin disorders; gastrointestinal disorders; and fatigue, Tootla said.

Tootla said xanthones have been found to support and enhance the body's immune system, and exhibit strong antioxidant activity. "I'm not saying we don't need drugs. We do," Tootla said. "We should look at all our alternatives."

Tootla said there also needs to be studies on the mangosteen plant. Tootla said there have been studies on the mangosteen fruit in Southeast Asia, but it has not been extensively studied in the United States.

"There have been a lot of studies on this, but in Japan, India, Indonesia, Thailand," Tootla said. "There are a lot of natural things that can benefit but in the Western world we ignore them."

Mangosteen and PSA levels

The other day one of my patients was asking me why do I push the Mangosteen juice so hard, and my answer was because it is good for people. I get to see a lot of advance diseases. People came to me as the last resort. I get to try my Chinese herbal formulas and my acupuncture with great success given the odds (regular doctors can do anything more for these people), but I also have limitations. When I started to use Mangosteen in my practice, I was using it only as a last resort; once I had given every other of my traditional formulas a chance to work. I was amazed by the results. Mangosteen was working where nothing else was. So I started to study the science behind the Mangosteen. And the more successes I had with the patients I used it on, the more my conviction grew.

I believe that a lot of our illnesses can be prevented, and that if this product can help a serious disease, it can also prevent it. I have seen it help people with cancer, heart disease, diabetes... It is not a panacea and everybody still needs medical care, but it gives people a fighting chance.
My bottom line is this, I push it because I care. If I can help one person with their health, the rest can laugh at me all they want.

I am attaching the copy of a news letter that a gentleman brought me. He has prostate cancer and does not want to be operated on. He is on his 70”s, has been drinking Mangosteen juice for a couple of months, and he is really excited with the results. He got his copy of the Prostate Cancer Communicator Newsletter vol.24 number 2 and read page 18, he rushed over to our clinic and ask to have two cases of juice sent to his brother.
I see thing like these often, and I thought I’d take the opportunity to share with you.

Here is an exerpt from a letter to the editor that my patient read:

December 5, 2007

My name is Glenn Waite and I will turn 80 years of age in
March 2008. I reside in Lakeland, Florida for five months a year and Cedar Springs, Michigan the other seven months of the year.

In 1996, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and given several choices of treatment. I decided to have my prostate removed believing at the time that surgery would completely remove all of the cancer.

In June of 1999, my PSA count began to rise again. There was a small area of cancer found on my bladder. I received 10 weeks of radiation.

In June of 2002, my PSA began to rise again. When it reached 11.1 in September of 2002, I began hormone therapy using Zoladex. I had side effects of hot flashes, tiredness, and depression.

In September 2003 when my PSA was down to .1, I insisted on stopping the hormone therapy after research and talking with other prostate cancer patients associated with the PAACT group. I opted to stop hormone therapy on September of 2003 (after just 12 months) with the idea of implementing intermittent hormone therapy.

In June 2004, my PSA rose to 4.01 and I began the hormone therapy again. I stopped the hormone therapy in June of 2005 when my PSA went down to .5.

By May 25, 2007, my PSA had gone up again to 13.1. I learned about the Xango (Mangosteen Juice) and began to take 3 ounces 3 times a day on July 14, 2007. When I met with my oncologist at the Veteran’s Hospital in Ann Arbor on July 14, she strongly suggested I begin the hormone therapy. I asked her about the Xango and she pulled up some medical information about it. She agreed to allow me to try the juice for 60 days, but wanted a new PSA report. She also warned me to be prepared to start the hormone therapy if the PSA did not go down at the end of the 60 days.

Two months later on September 12, my PSA was down to 6.9. My oncologist was speechless and had never seen a PSA go down without some type of traditional medical treatment. She was truly amazed.

She did NOT recommend starting the hormone therapy but did want another PSA test in 2-3 months. She also suggested it may only be temporary and I may need to start the hormone therapy if the PSA goes back up. She said I could be seen by a doctor at the Grand Rapids VA clinic and based on the blood tests, I could have the hormone therapy begun closer to home....if necessary.

On October 31, 2007, my PSA was down to 1.7. My regular doctor in Grand Rapids just left the VA Clinic to take a position out West. As of today, a new doctor has not yet been assigned to me to discuss my October 2007 results. The 3 1/2 months where my PSA dropped from 13.1 to 1.7, I was taking the Xango. That is the ONLY thing different that I was doing.

Over the last eight years, I have
tried to eat healthy food, take vitamins, exercise regularly (work out at the YMCA one - three times a week and golf two - three times a week), and maintain a positive attitude. At this point in time, I am completely convinced the Xango is the only possible reason my PSA (amount of cancer cells in my system) has been lowered. I feel great and am doing everything I want to do at this time of my life. I have copies of my blood tests to prove the PSA readings as well as copies of other medical reports. I would be happy to talk with anyone and share my personal experience in hopes it may be of help to others.

Sincerely,

Glenn E Waite

Mangosteen and Weigt loss

In my clinic I use the mangosteen juice when some one comes to me with weight control problems. I use a low glycimic diet, exercise, and two ounces of mangosteen juice before every meal. I do this because I have found the mangosteen juice to be a blood sugar modulator, and a digestive aid. I ran into a short tip on RealAge.com and I rejoiced when I read the following:

Trying to lose weight? Go ahead and spoil your appetite. It makes sense to nibble on these foods before you eat...

....Apples, pears,
mangosteens, or other juicy, high-fiber fruits. (Mangosteens? They’re like dark-red peach-plums, and they’re prized in Asia.) These fruits are nature’s true diet pills -- you know, foods that help you lose even more weight when you diet. When a group of women dieters had fruit before three meals daily, they lost more weight than fruit-free dieters . . . even though they all ate the same number of calories. Choose fruit that’s high in fiber but low in calories, which generally means fruits that are high in water content (think apples or, yes, mangosteens, not bananas).

to read the original tip click here

The Mangosteen juice I recommend it is the only one that has the pureƩ of the whole mangosteen fruit in it (pulp, peel, seeds, even the stem...) so besides being as close to the natural fruit as you can get, it is packed with fiber.

Give it a try it has a 30 day money back guarantee
